Story Serve Team Guide
The Story Serve Team communicates Summit’s mission, values, culture, and ministry through compelling, high-quality photo, video, and social content—helping our city and world experience what Summit is like.
Timing (updated): Please arrive when Planning Center indicates and follow any updates from your Team Lead.
Why do I do this?
You serve because Jesus washed feet. You serve because through your gifts and efforts we stay on mission to disciple people, deliver hope and champion our city. You serve because people are looking—like you once were—for a place to be known, find hope and bring heaven to the city of St. Paul.
Serve Team posture
- Warmth first: smile, eye contact, and a helpful tone.
- Clarity matters: if someone looks unsure, step in gently.
- When in doubt, ask your Team Lead.
Always follow Team Lead & staff direction.
If anything feels unclear, unsafe, or urgent, get help right away.
What do I do?
Photographer / Videographer
Capture images and video that help tell the Story of Summit.
Social Media Champion
Create and publish content (with approval) that supports the mission and invites people in.
What do I need to know?
- Be familiar with Planning Center and maintain communication with your Team Lead.
- Use church software and accounts responsibly—avoid copyright issues.
- Honor consent: if someone doesn’t want photos/video, don’t capture them.
- Ask leadership before photographing children (as directed).
- All posts must be approved by a Team Lead before publishing.
How do I do it? (Sunday flow)
- 1) Confirm your scheduleRespond promptly in Planning Center.
- 2) Arrive & check in with your Team LeadConfirm the content priorities for the day.
- 3) Capture content with careBe respectful, unobtrusive, and aware of privacy.
- 4) Upload and organizeUpload files to the Story Team Dropbox system and notify your Team Lead.
- 5) Publish only with approvalIf you post content, get Team Lead approval first.
- 6) Finish strongCommunicate issues/highlights and leave spaces tidy.
What success looks like
- Content reflects Summit accurately and beautifully.
- Privacy and consent are respected without exception.
- Files are uploaded promptly and organized.
