Sunday Flow Details (Troubleshooting-ready)
Use the tabs below to walk through each part of the process without missing small steps.
Critical power rule: The soundboard is first ON and last OFF.
Core Principle: Follow the order, move calmly, and return items (like the projector remote) to their home spot every time.
Tip: If you’re troubleshooting, open Booth Power-On Order first — most issues start with order or a missed power step.
Setup Overview (high-level)
- Door E → disarm alarm → confirm “Summit is ready.”
- Unlock the sanctuary door people will come in.
- Sanctuary lights: press 1 (switches right of booth from sanctuary view).
- Booth power-on order (soundboard first on, last off).
- Projectors: use remote carefully; respect cool-down.
- Back-stage right: downstairs breakers ON (4 marked) → rack switches (2) → QSC power.
- Microsoft PC: Vista 3 + USB re-seat; Apple PC: audio cable re-seat after boot.
Arrival & Alarm (Door E)
- Enter through Door E to turn off the alarm.
- Type the code provided and press Enter.
- It should say: “Summit is ready.”
Doors & Sanctuary Lights
- As you come toward the sanctuary, unlock the door people will come in.
- Proceed to the sanctuary and turn on the lights.
- Light controls are to the right of the sound booth when you’re looking at it from the sanctuary.
- Press 1 and the lights will come on.
- Proceed to the sound booth — there’s a light switch on the pillar if you need it.
Booth Power-On Order (do not skip)
Order is important: The soundboard is first ON and last OFF.
- 1) Soundboard — FIRST ON
- On the back of the board, right side at the bottom, press the power button.
- 2) Key station — NEXT (to the left)
- Turn the key 180° to power equipment.
- This turns on speakers in the narthex and boots the Sonos equipment.
- 3) Microsoft PC — NEXT (lighting control)
- Power button is on top.
- This controls lighting (Vista 3).
- 4) Apple PC — NEXT (projectors/slides/music)
- Power button is on the back on the bottom on the left — small round button.
- We also run Spotify from this PC to the soundboard as needed.
- Passwords
- Both computers require the same password given at orientation.
- Sonos tablet
- Tablet next to the soundboard can be used to play music on Sonos.
Projectors (Vivitek) — Remote + Cool-down
- Grab the white remote control for the Vivitek projectors and turn on the needed projector(s).
- There are three projectors. If you only need the top projector, point the remote upward so only that one turns on.
- If you turn on too many, you’ll need to turn off the others carefully — practice makes perfect 😎
- Each projector has a cool-down timer. Watch the indicator lights to know when you can power on/off again.
- Return the remote to where you found it so it doesn’t get misplaced (important).
Breakers & Rack Power (Back of stage → downstairs)
- Proceed to the back of the stage area on the right side and find the equipment rack.
- To the right of the rack is a hallway with an illuminated light switch — turn on the light and proceed downstairs.
- Bottom of stairs: door on left labeled “Fire Sprinkler Riser Room”.
- Light switches are on the left wall.
- In the breaker box: turn ON the four marked breakers (colored tape):
-
- 2 and 4 together
- 11, 19 and 21 together
- 29
- Close the box. Turn off the light. Close doors. Return upstairs to the equipment rack.
- At the rack: flip the two switches at chin height on the right side of the front panel:
- One switch is black.
- One switch lights up orange.
- At about waist height: power on the QSC device by pressing the power button.
- Once those three are on, turn off the hallway light (illuminated switch) and return to the front to finish setup.
Vista 3 & Audio Reconnects (Lights + Music)
- On the Microsoft PC, open Vista 3 (desktop).
- It may ask to open the last file used. If not correct: File → Open and select the correct file.
- For lights to control correctly, the Microsoft PC must reconnect to the Vista equipment next to the screen:
-
- Disconnect the USB from the back of the Vista device.
- Wait a couple seconds.
- Plug it back in so the PC recognizes it again.
- Once connected, the sanctuary lights will dim a little and you can hit play on setups.
- For sound from the Apple PC: disconnect and reconnect the audio cable after boot.
- Ready: music and lights are now connected through the soundboard — your session may begin.
Tear-down (Reverse of Setup)
Critical power rule: The soundboard is last OFF.
- Reverse the setup steps calmly — don’t rush cool-down timers.
- Projectors: power off carefully and respect cool-down; return remote.
- Rack/QSC: power down as directed.
- Downstairs breakers: turn OFF the same marked breakers you turned on (2+4, 11+19+21, 29).
- Key station OFF as directed.
- Computers shut down as directed.
- Soundboard last OFF (rear power button on the board).
Final Notes (Troubleshooting + handoff)
- If something was off or required “workarounds,” message your Team Lead so it can be fixed permanently.
- Return the projector remote to its home spot every time.
- Keep the booth clean and ready for the next Serve Team.
