Compartments · working draft page
This page is a starting draft based on what is already known. It is meant to help Brian remember that his internal world has had distinct compartments that helped him survive, adapt, protect, and make sense of overwhelming experience. This is not presented as a cold diagnosis page. It is a relational map.
Brian is the integrated identity the story keeps moving toward. He represents increasing clarity, honesty, and wholeness. When Brian is present, there is more peace, more coherence, and more ability to remain in truth without hiding.
Clark is associated with structure, stability, and practical orientation. Clark helps translate survival into routine and order. He can feel like the one trying to keep the system functioning and readable.
Bruce carries force, edge, protection, and confrontation. Bruce can appear when strength is needed, when danger is sensed, or when the system needs to cut through confusion in a more intense way.
Doc functions like an internal explainer and interpreter. He offers narrative, language, and a stabilizing voice that can help Brian make sense of what is happening.
Link represents the compartment that keeps going when brokenness is heavy. Link is tied to survival-through-story, inner quest language, and the feeling of moving forward even when the self feels fragmented.
Masking is described here not as fake living for its own sake, but as a protective adaptation. It helped preserve safety, belonging, and function. Over time, the goal becomes understanding the mask without despising it, and moving toward greater truth.
